How to sound like Pakito - Basic

    Hello!

I’m now going to show you the basics of how to get the typical “Pakito-sound” in just a couple of minutes.
The only thing you need is to have Fruity Loops, the version dosen’t really matter since this is so simple.
I’m using the Fruity Loops 7 XXXL - Producer Edition.

The two main factors in his songs is the wobbly base and the “beeping-sound”, that’s kinda his trademark in the clubs.

We’ll start with the bass. The bass in his songs is stirring and the reason why you want to hit the dancefloor everytime
you here one of his songs. To get the same catchy feeling we have to wobble the bass and maybe vary the volume. There’s
hundreds, even thousends, of different ways you can get the bass to sound wobbly, and I’ve posted some screenshots for you to look at here. I made the bass in the basic BooBass just to be sure that everyone had the program,
so if you got any other VST-plugin with a nice sounding bass installed, you should probobly use that one instead.

    Get MAGIX Music Maker 14

Now to his “beeping-sound”. With just a couple of clicks, you can have a good clubsound that most people would go nuts to out in the clubs!

    1. Go to Insert and choose “Buzz Generator”. (Sometimes you have to go to “More…” and choose the Buzz Generator from there.)

    2. Now when you have opened Buzz Generator; go to it and select the sound: Muon Synth. And make a melody that is above C5 in the Piano roll. You can now play it and here that you have got the
beeping sound, but it actually sounds like crap.
That’s why you have to add some effects. You do this by…

    3. Left-click on the Buzz Generator and go to “Channel Settings”, you now choose a FX-channel eg. 5. You then go to the Mixer and select FX-channel 5, that’s
connected to your Buzz Generator. Now choose both “Reverb” and “Reverb 2″ as effects. Leave “Reverb” as it is, maybe turn down the volume a bit. The “Reverb 2″
    you need to select the effect and then go to the bottom named “Del” and turn it until it looks like the bottom named “Bass”, if you see the bottom as a clock;
it should be somewhere between 10.30 and 11.00.

Here’s the piano roll to one of Pakitos wicked songs:

There you go! If you listen now it sounds almost like the sound Pakito uses in his songs. To get the sound even more like you might have to experiment with diffrerent
types of filters, compressors and so on, but that’s up to you.

(I’m aware that some parts of my screens have been cut-off. If you want to see the whole pic, just right-click it, go to settings and then copy > paste the url of the pic to your browser.)
    Enjoy!

Here is a sample of what i made with these sounds:
