How to create the famous Benny Benassi sound in fruity loops
-
In this tutorial I will show how to get the typical “Benny Benassi”-sound in Fruity Loops.
This is the finished sound that we will make:
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
Step 1
Start to open a new project and lower the tempo to below 130. In my example I have set the BPM to 124.
When You have done this. Go to “Instert” and open “Buzz Generator” (Sometimes you need to go to “More…” and
the program, in order to find it.)Step 2
When the Buzz Generator is up; Go to the program and open the “Muon Synth”-sound.Step 3
Now make a simple melody below C4 in the Piano roll and set the Buzz Generators FX-Channel to e.g “1″ and then go to
the Mixer. Select FX-Channel 1 that you connected to the Buzz Generator and instert “Reverb” and two “Reverb 2″ and
use the Reverb-settings as shown below in the picture (On the “Reverb”-effect I used the defult settings).
Step 4
Use a Kick with a low pitch and a clap with maybe some Reverb…Guess it can’t be much more simple than that. All you need now is a mind-blowing melody!

hey can u help can u explain it more like what to do with the first reverb it’s kinda hard for some1 who has no knowledge of fl to understand…and i also heard that low thresh hold and high compression was actually benny benassi tone

hey confused guy!
about the first reverb: you actually dont have to do that much. if you know how to input effects to the “instrument”, you just open a “fruity reverb” and leave it as it is..
to awnser about the actual tone: my way might not be the “real” way of how to create to sound, just a simple technique you can use to get a similar sounding tone.
if you input the effect “fruity compressor” you can try to turn the buttoms to get a even better sound. there’s millions of ways how the create the perfect sound
hope you’ve got “satisfaction” from my awnser
otherwise just comment and i’ll try to describe it in another way!

duarte aguas - this is the probobly the easiest way to add an effect:
1. Start by leftklick the sample or instrument you want to add the effect to. By doing it you will get a window called “Channel settings - Kick”, if you left-clicked the Kick-Sample.
2. In the right corner of the window, you will find a box saying “- -” with the letters “FX” below.
3. Choose any number in that box, like ” 1″. Now double-clikc on that FX-box and you will get a new window called “Mixer”.
4. You can see that the “Insert 1″ is highlighted, since you’ve chosen 1 in the FX-box.
5. You can now go to the right side of the Mixer where the down-pointing arrows are - Click on one and go to Select.
6. From there you get a list of all the Effects that FL has to offer and you can easy add other by click on “More…”.
Hope you’ll be able to input your effects now duarte aguas

Hey man, it’s okay tutorial, but this not the proper sound I would suggest Refx’s quadraSID as VST and there needs to be sidechain compression in the basskick, also you need to glide the keys so that there’s pitch modulation when changing keys.

Sure Doctrations, you can use another VST. I can probably give you examples of 10-15 you can use, but most of them cost lots of money, and im trying to explain as simply as possible so people can create the sound with only the basic features in FL.

Dan: I dont think it’s because you’re using the demo-version. It might be but I think that you just need to go to the intruments channel settings, then add an FX and then open the mixer.
Richard: You can make it yourself by using some effects, but there’s also alot of DrumPackages you can buy, to get this type of kick. I used a kick from Vengance called TekHouse.

dont sounds like bennassi…because reverb ist bad, use a better sounding reverb! and it would be optimal, when you use sidechain compressors, a bus where u place the reverb, after the reverb place the sidechain compressor, and let it be triggered by your melody, so that the reverb can be heared when the melody stops to play…in logic studio its very very simple to make and really sounds like bennassi
